Verses from Colossians and 1 Corinthians

你们要恒切祷告，在祷告的时候存着感恩的心警醒； (歌罗西书 4:2)

现在常存的有信、望、爱这三样，其中最大的是爱。 (哥林多前书 13:13)

Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful. (Colossians 4:2)

What we can do is to pray for the people who are still lost out there and love them with His love, especially today when Singapore is facing the pink dot protest for the govt to change the law of marriage to accommodate same sex marriages.

Verse from Luke

耶稣又对众人说：“如果有人愿意跟从我，就当舍己，天天背起他的十字架来跟从我。 (路加福音 9:23)

Then he said to them all: “Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross daily and follow me. (Luke 9:23)

The spirit of humility and self-denial precedes a deeper and closer walk with God.

Verse from Isaiah

公义的果效必是平安， 公义的效验必是平静与安稳，直到永远。 (以赛亚书 32:17)

The fruit of that righteousness will be peace; its effect will be quietness and confidence forever. (Isaiah 32:17)

Verse from Romans

谁能使我们与基督的爱隔绝呢？是患难吗？是困苦吗？是迫害吗？是饥饿吗？是赤身露体吗？是危险吗？是刀剑吗？ (罗马书 8:35)

Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword? (Romans 8:35)

The Lord may not give us the reasons for our trials. But it doesn't mean He does not love us. He is still in control over our lives.

God’s love does not keep us from trials, but sees us through them.

Verse from Philippians

不要自私自利，也不要贪图虚荣，只要谦卑，看别人比自己强；(腓立比书 2:3)

Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves, (Philippians 2:3)

When we fail in valuing others, His sacrifice for us shows us the humble, better way.

Verse from John

我把这些事告诉你们，是要使你们在我里面有平安。在世上你们有患难，但你们放心，我已经胜了这世界。” (约翰福音 16:33)

These things I have spoken to you, so that in Me you may have peace. In the world you have tribulation, but take courage; I have overcome the world." (John 16:33)

Verse from Romans

政府的权柄，人人都应当服从。因为没有一样权柄不是从　神来的；掌权的都是　神设立的。 (罗马书 13:1)

Every person is to be in subjection to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and those which exist are established by God. (Romans 13:1)

Sometimes we grumble about government and other officials. But a proper respect for authority honors God. Paul, who had his own problems with those in charge, wrote, “Let every soul be subject to the governing authorities” (Rom. 13:1). And later, “Do what is good, and you will have praise from [the authorities]” (v.3).

As we let God’s Spirit teach us, we can have a healthy attitude toward government. It’s for our good, the testimony of our faith, and most of all for God’s honor.

Thank You, Lord, for people who are willing to serve in our local, state, and national governments. We pray that

they will seek righteousness and justice and that You will help us to respect those You have placed over us.

Respect for authority brings glory to God.

Verse from Job

他把北极铺在空间， 把地球挂在太空。 (约伯记 26:7)

"He stretches out the north over empty space And hangs the earth on nothing. (Job 26:7)

When we reflect on the power of God’s creation, we see the power of His care for us.

Verse from 2 Corinthians

神能把各样的恩惠多多地加给你们，使你们凡事常常充足，多作各样的善事。 (哥林多后书 9:8)

And God is able to bless you abundantly, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work. (2 Corinthians 9:8)

Resentment comes from looking at others; contentment comes from looking at God.

Verse from Psalm

但耶和华作了我的高台， 我的　神作了我避难的盘石。 (诗篇 94:22)

But the Lord has become my fortress, and my God the rock in whom I take refuge. (Psalm 94:22)

Thank You, God, for Your stable and unchanging nature. Help us to hide ourselves in You when trouble comes our way. Remind us that we don’t have to fight our own battles.

Verse from Lamentations

他虽然使人忧愁，却必照着他丰盛的慈爱施怜悯。(耶利米哀歌 3:32)

Though he brings grief, he will show compassion, so great is his unfailing love. (Lamentations 3:32 NIV)

God will either spare you from suffering or give you the grace to bear it.

Verse from Deuteronomy

我吩咐你们的话，你们不可增加，也不可减少，好使你们遵守我吩咐你们的，就是耶和华你们的　神的命令。 (申命记 4:2)

Do not add to what I command you and do not subtract from it, but keep the commands of the Lord your God that I give you. (Deuteronomy 4:2)

Verse from 1 Peter

你们要谨守、警醒。你们的仇敌魔鬼，好象吼叫的狮子走来走去，寻找可以吞吃的人；你们要用坚强的信心抵挡他，因为知道你们在世上的弟兄，也经历过同样的苦难。(彼得前书5:8,9)

Verse from 1 Corinthians

Be on your guard; stand firm in the faith; be courageous; be strong. (1 Corinthians 16:13)

Verse from James

我们用它来称颂我们的主和天父，又用它来咒诅照神的形象被造的人。同一张嘴竟然又称颂主，又咒诅人；我的弟兄们，这是不应该的！(雅各书3:9,10)

Verse from 1 Samuel

It’s one thing to worship and praise God at church; it’s quite another to move out into the real world and worship Him through daily obedience.

Verse from Acts

From one man he made all the nations, that they should inhabit the whole earth; and he marked out their appointed times in history and the boundaries of their lands. (Acts 17:26)

 Equal in God’s sight and from 'one blood', we together praise and honor Him.

Verse from I John

No one has ever seen God; but if we love one another, God lives in us and his love is made complete in us. (1 John 4:12)

Verse from John

A change in behavior begins with letting Jesus changing our heart.

Verse from Mark

Verse from Ecclesiastes

The words of the wise are like goads, their collected sayings like firmly embedded nails—given by one shepherd. (Ecclesiastes 12:11)

Give us the wisdom we need, Lord, to encourage others in their spiritual walk. We know we need Your Spirit’s power to do that. Use the gifts You have given us to help others along on their journey.

Verse from John

我作了你们的榜样，是要你们也照着我所作的去行。 (约翰福音 13:15)

I have set you an example that you should do as I have done for you. (John 13:15)

For thousands of years, the Jewish people had only the law telling them what to do and what not to do. But then came Jesus Christ, who showed them how to live the life God had been telling them about all along. Jesus didn’t just say, “Be humble”; He “humbled Himself” (Phil. 2:8). He didn’t just say, “Forgive others”; He forgave us (Col. 3:13). He didn’t just say, “Love God and your neighbors”; He demonstrated love by His actions (John 15:12).

Verse from Proverbs

人看自己一切所行的，都是正直的；耶和华却衡量人心。(箴言21:2)

A person may think their own ways are right, but the Lord weighs the heart. (Proverbs 21:2)
