Verses from 2 Corinthians

我们主耶稣基督的父神是应当称颂的。他是满有怜悯的父，赐各样安慰的神。我们在一切患难中，神都安慰我们，使我们能用他所赐的安慰，去安慰那些在各样患难中的人。(哥林多后书 1:3, 4)

Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God. (2 Corinthians 1:3, 4)

Father, thank You for letting us share with You our worries and cares. We’re grateful that You stand beside us to comfort and guide. 

Help us to console others as You look out for Your own.

God comforts us so that we can comfort others.

So often we ask why God allows a hurtful experience to come our way. Today’s reading provides us with at least one very plausible reason for the pain. We are comforted in our afflictions so that we might comfort others in theirs (v.4). Hearing of the faithfulness of God in trials uplifts others who suffer.
